You all have heard of the PC Optimum points, right? If, you haven’t then here’s a quick brief:
First of all PC Optimum is a popular rewards program in Canada. It is accepted at over 4500+ stores across Canada.
It is free to join and start earning the reward points. To earn points, you’ll have to swipe or scan the PC Optimum points card (digital) during the checkout, to earn points for the purchase.
Redeeming the PC points is extremely easy as well, 10,000 points = $10 off.
Earning PC Optimum Points is extremely easy and rewarding at the same time. What PC Insiders does is – it’ll actually increase the PC Points earning rate by multiplying the points with an X multiplier or with applicable 20% discounts during checkout.
Are you looking for the PC Insiders Subscription? Do you want to know what PC Insiders is all about and how you can earn more PC Optimum points with it? I’ve got you covered. Let’s get started.
What Is PC Insiders?
PC Insiders is a paid monthly or annual subscription program available exclusively to PC Optimum members. The best part of the Insiders subscription is you’ll end up scoring extra points, skip fees, and much more.
The PC Insiders subscription service was launched a few years back, I’m not sure of the exact timelines.
It was Loblaw’s who actually introduced this subscription service that will give you these amazing benefits, but would you be willing to pay $9.99 a month or $99 annually for it? Let’s find out.
PC Insiders Perks
We all shop at the Valu-mart, No Frills, Loblaws, ESSO/Mobil gas station, Shoppers Drug Mart, Real Canadian Super Store and Joe Fresh or at least visit a few of them for our daily needs and purchases.
Now, those are just a few of the places where you can earn extra PC Points using the Insiders membership. Mind you, I’ve just named a few places where you can earn extra PC Points. There are tons of other places you might actually be interested in.
The actual multiple you’ll earn will depend on the purchase you make. Do remember, you’ll earn the normal PC Optimum points for all your purchases even without the insider’s membership, but the advantage you are getting here is the multiple at which you will earn the PC Optimum points, apart from the bonus in-store offers.
From what I’ve seen and reviewed here on my blog, I do strongly believe that PC Optimum is one of the best loyalty programs in Canada. Period.

All you need to do is – visit pctravel.ca and book your travel purchases to earn 3X the PC Optimum points on the booking amount.
Simple Right? Yes, it is. There are no strings attached. Also, the points earning rates are petty standard across the site.
Also, with the PC Insiders Travel you’ll get the benefit of “Best Price Match Guarantee”. So rest assured you’ll end up paying the best price in the market – be it for air tickets or for accommodation.

Benefits Of The PC Insiders Travel program
If you are a PC Financial Mastercard holder and a PC Insider member, there are 4 benefits for you
1. You’ll earn up to 3x PC Optimum points for every purchase you make
2. You get free access to exclusive bonus points promotions, which runs all round the year.
3. You can apply the PC Insider $99 Travel credit towards your PC Travel booking (that’s a win-win situation)
4. If you are a PC Financial Mastercard holder, you’ll earn PC Optimum Points on every travel purchase – PC Mastercard and PC World Mastercard credit cards will earn you 2X points on every PC Travel purchase. If you have the PC World Elite Mastercard you will earn 3X points on every PC Insiders Travel purchase.
Do note that, If you are a PC Optimum member only, you cannot book with the PC Insiders Travel.
For the PC Insiders loyalty points benefit, all you need to do is scan your PC Optimum loyalty card and your extra points for eligible purchases will be awarded automatically in the app.
For free shipping, waived pick-up fee or to use the travel credit available with annual subscriptions, you must use your PC id credentials that you use to sign in to your loyalty account.
However, if you have the PC Mastercard, then you’ll earn more points on all your purchases.
For Example, the PC Financial World Elite Mastercard gives you 30 points for every $1 spent at participating stores where PC products are sold. You also earn 45 points per $1 spent at Shoppers Drug Mart.
That means your credit card gives you a 3% and 4.5% return in PC Optimum points respectively at those stores. That’s a crazy high earn rate for a credit card with no annual fee and it’s arguably better than some of the best travel credit cards in Canada.
World Elite Mastercard has a higher income requirement, but PC Credit Cards also have an entry-level card in the PC Financial Mastercard which earns you 25 PC Optimum Points per $1 dollar spent at Shoppers Drug Mart and 10 PC Optimum Points per $1 spent on all other purchases which are obviously a great way to earn you more points.
Credit cards are a great way to earn points, but the in-store promos are what really earn you some crazy amount of points.
For example, Joe Fresh recently had a promo where you would get 10,000 PC Optimum Points when you spend $50. That promo stacks with PC Insiders so that would mean you would have earned 20% back in PC Optimum points.
These types of promotions also happen at Shoppers Drug Mart on a regular basis so make sure you’re signed up for their personalized newsletter, which you’ll get weekly.
