PC Insiders Review: Maximize Your PC Optimum Points in 2019

Are you looking for the PC Insiders Subscription? Do you want to know what PC Insiders is all about and how you can earn more PC Optimum points with it? I’ve got you covered. Let’s get started.

What is PC Insiders?

PC Insiders is a paid subscription program available to PC Optimum members. Insiders score extra points, skip fees, and much more.

The Subscription service was launched a few years back.

Loblaw’s introduced a subscription service that would give you some benefits, but would you pay $9.99 a month or $99 annually for it?

As someone who shops at No Frills, Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Super Store and Joe Fresh, I was interested but I didn’t think much of it and didn’t bother to check it out when it officially launched.

I think PC Optimum is one of the best retail loyalty programs out there so if there’s a reason to earn even more points, I definetely want to look at it.

It may have taken some time, but I’m now finally a PC Insiders subscriber.

Before we look at the benefits, let me first tell you, there are basically two subscription levels at PC Insiders.

Now Lets take a look at the PC Insiders Benefits

  • $99 Travel Credit – Available only for the annual subscription

PC Insiders comes packed with benefits.

Yes, there is a small fee for the service, but if you subscribe for the annual plan, you’ll get an annual credit of $99 at PC Travel.

Some of you might say you will never use PC Travel so that doesn’t apply, but PC Travel is a full-service travel agency.

Even If you travel even once every year, use the PC Travel services to book anything has a minimum value of $99 so that your PC Insiders subscription is basically free.

Add-On Benefits – PC Insiders

Apart from the numerous benefits I have covered so far; PC Insiders has other major benefits for increased points earning rate. Let’s look at them here.

With a PC Insiders, you’re basically getting 20% off in points on every purchase which is huge. Joe Fresh already has incredibly offers on affordable clothes.

With the PC Insiders membership, you’ll get 20% back in points.

With the store discounts as is and the PC Points you’re able to get high-quality food products at a very good discount.

Like I said before, the no fee pick up at PC Express is one thing I missed early on, but it’s become my favourite thing about the PC Insiders program now.

Basically, you can order your groceries online and then pick them up in store. When you arrive, your groceries are delivered right to your car! It’s really convenient, you pay the same cost and earn points at the same time.

The reason PC Express is so attractive is that you no longer need to spend time going through grocery shopping for the things you’ll need. All you need to do is order groceries online and someone at the store will do it for you. You’ll be while earning valuable points and saving your precious time at the same time.

As someone who has been using PC Insiders for a couple of months now, I can definetely say that it’s a big winner.

Getting free grocery pick ups and earning 20% on top of regular personalized offers is reason enough for my PC Insiders review to be positive.

Maximizing Your PC Optimum Points

In case you’re still new or not completely familiar with PC Optimum rewards program. I have covered it in detail and you can find the article by clicking here

Here’s how PC Optimum works – You’ll earn PC points by regular shopping at 200+ stores. You can then redeem 10,000 PC points for $10 in groceries or merchandise.

Points are earned through personalized, weekly offers and in-store promos.

PC Optimum + PC Insiders + PC Mastercard = Maximum benefits and PC Optimum Points earned

However, if you have the PC Mastercard, then you’ll earn more points on all your purchases.

For Example, the PC Financial World Elite Mastercard gives you 30 points for every $1 spent at participating stores where PC products are sold. You also earn 45 points per $1 spent at Shoppers Drug Mart.

That means your credit card gives you a 3% and 4.5% return in PC Optimum points respectively at those stores. That’s a crazy high earn rate for a credit card with no annual fee and it’s arguably better than some of the best travel credit cards in Canada.

You can read my full review of the PC Financial World Elite Mastercard here.

World Elite Mastercard have a higher income requirement, but PC Credit Cards also have an entry-level card in the PC Financial Mastercard which earns you 25 PC Optimum Points per $1 dollar spent at Shoppers Drug Mart and 10 PC Optimum Points per $1 spent on all other purchases which is obviously a great way to earn you more points.

Related: I’ve covered the PC Mastercards in detail here

Credit cards are a great way to earn points, but the in-store promos are what really earn you some crazy amount of points.

For example, Joe Fresh recently had a promo where you would get 10,000 PC Optimum points when you spend $50. That promo stacks with PC Insiders so that would mean you would have earned 20% back in PC Optimum points.

These types of promotions also happen at Shoppers Drug Mart on a regular basis so make sure you’re signed up for their personalized newsletter, which you’ll get weekly.

Conclusion

PC optimum combined with PC Insiders and PC Mastercard is the best possible combination you can dream to possess.

Still, PC Optimum card with PC insiders is good enough to make the most while paying for your groceries, clothes or gas bills.

I am telling this again, definetely go for the PC Insiders and PC Optimum subscription if you havnt yet. It’s the best rewards program in Canada at the moment. To least say, PC optimum is completely free, give it a shot and you wont regret for sure.

To conclude, my PC Insiders review is very positive. Some people may think paying a monthly or annual fee for a store loyalty program is crazy, but when you’ll look at the value you get, it’s clear that you can come out ahead.
