Sweatcoin Review: Legit Or Scam? How To Make $100 Real Quick

Do you really get paid to walk? Now that’s an interesting question to ask.

The first time I heard about Sweatcoin I was intrigued! I love walking and it’s something I try to do every day so when I found out that it was possible to make some extra money on the side by walking outside I really wanted to check out this app.

Is Sweatcoin Really Legit?

Let me reassure you on this! Sweatcoin is not a scam. It’s completely legit and yes, it’s true! You will get paid for walking. And I found myself taking much longer walks just to earn a few more bucks!

However, you will not make hundreds of dollars a week with this app. Make sure you don’t set unrealistic expectations for how much you can make!

Depending on your monthly subscription, you can earn between 150 to 600 sweatcoin’s a month!

Sweatcoin Review 2019: Is it Legit or a Scam?

Let me reassure you on this! Sweatcoin is not a scam. It’s completely legit and yes, it’s true! You will get paid for walking.

The reason I love Sweatcoin is that it helps you to make some free money out of something you are already doing, and it encourages you to make more exercise!

However, you will not make hundreds of dollars a week with this app. Make sure you don’t set unrealistic expectations for how much you can make!

How Does Sweatcoin Work?

1. Download the Sweatcoin App

First of all, you need to install the app on your smartphone. You can download the app here and in a few minutes, you will be set to start earning sweatcoins.

2. Start To Walk

Once you’ve set up the app, you can start walking. You will need to let the app run in the background, and allow it to track your steps.

Every time you walk outside, Sweatcoin will register how many outdoor steps you take and will reward you .95 sweatcoin’s every 1,000 steps.

This isn’t, of course, a mind-blowing amount, but if you keep the app running, every step adds up, and you’ll be able to get one of the offers in a few weeks!

3. Finally Exchange Sweatcoins for rewards

As soon as you earn enough sweatcoins, you can exchange them for one of the many rewards you can find in the daily offers.

When Sweatcoin started out, it was mostly offering fitness related products, but you can now find restaurants discount, holiday vouchers, and you can even get an iPhone XS with 20,000 sweatcoins!

How many Sweatcoins can I earn?

There are 3 ways to earn sweatcoins:

  • Make money for walking

  • Earn daily rewards

  • Invite friends rewards

Make easy money while walking

This is the main way to earn money with Sweatcoin. Just grab your phone, let the app run in the background, go outside and start walking!

At the moment there is a daily cap on how many sweatcoins you can earn.

When you install the app, you are automatically subscribed (for free) to the Mover Subscription.

This is the free level and it allows you to earn up to 5 sweatcoins per day (roughly 5,000 steps a day), and up to 150 sweatcoins per month.

If you want to earn more, you need to move up to one of the paid subscriptions.

Shaker

Cost: 4.75 SWC/month

With the shaker subscription, you can earn up to 10 SWC (10,000 steps) per day and up to 300 SWC per month.

Quaker

Cost: 4.75 SWC/month

With the quaker subscription, you can earn up to 15 SWC (15,000 steps) per day and up to 450 SWC per month.

Breaker

Cost: 4.75 SWC/month

With the breaker subscription, you can earn up to 20 SWC (20,000) per day and up to 600 SWC per month.

After trying the shaker subscription for a month, I decided to keep the free mover subscription. Even if I do over 10,000 during the weekends and some days in the week, I found that on average I am better off with the mover subscription.

Earn daily rewards

Daily rewards are another way for you to earn sweatcoins, simply by watching an ad within the app.

To claim your daily reward, simply go to the marketplace screen, click “Claim it now” under the daily reward module, watch the short ad from start to finish, and that’s it – 1 Sweatcoin is all yours.

You can check your wallet to view the transaction and make sure you got paid.

Invite friends – Referral Income

Sweatcoin currently offers a referral program. For every friend you refer, you can get 5 sweatcoins. The more friends you refer, the more rewards you can get!

How to spend your Sweatcoins?

There are 2 types of offers with Sweatcoin:

  • Daily offers

  • Marathon offers

Sweatcoins Daily offers

I have to say since I started using Sweatcoin a few months ago, I can see more and more offers added every day.

Sweatcoin has over 160 brands and there are many things you’ll be able to choose from: restaurant vouchers, holiday vouchers, workout clothes, jewelry, shaving products…

Offers vary a lot in prices: you can get some for as little as 4 sweatcoins or as much as 1,500 sweatcoins!

Every day, after 8 am, you’ll be able to find new offers on the app.

Marathon offers

Well, they are called marathon offers for a reason! It can take you a long time to get them.

Marathon offers have some awesome rewards:

  • iPhone XS

  • $1,000 in cash paid via PayPal

  • $1,000 holiday voucher

Just to name a few!

If you try to get these offers just by walking, it would take you several years to save up for them. You need to be smart about it!

Sweatcoin lets you transfer money between accounts. If you invite friends and combine your effort, you can add up your sweatcoins and earn these amazing rewards much faster!

Does Sweatcoin really pay?

Even after reading all of this, you might still be wondering if sweatcoin is legit or a scam.

Will it really pay you?

If you invest a few months earning sweatcoins with friends to get for example the $1,000 cash reward with PayPal, will you really receive it?

I know you are probably still a bit skeptical, but I can assure you that sweatcoin is legit. I had the exact same doubts as you, the first time I could cash out $100.

How Can I Improve my Sweatcoin Step Conversion On Apple devices?

First thing’s first, check out this video by sweatcoin

If your conversion rate of steps to Sweatcoins is way lower than 65% (which is about the average for all users), remember to:

  1. Never force quit (swipe up) the app from the list of open apps

  2. Always have the latest version of the app installed

If you’re doing this, and you’re still experiencing issues, try this out:

  1. Force send all steps from the info screen > go outside and walk 500 steps while keeping our app open > force send steps again

  2. If your conversion is good in this instance then the only thing you need to do is to keep our app alive in the background. Do not force quit it or check on it regularly especially at the beginning of your walk.

If none of these tips work, and your conversion remains VERY LOW or ZERO then it is likely that your GPS chip is playing up.

To check this, please go to iPhone Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy or use this app to check if your GPS chip is faulty:

  • The accuracy should be below 65

  • The speed should be between 0 and 5

  • Direction should NOT be -1

If any of the inputs you get are different from the above, there is an issue with your GPS chip, so please take your phone to an Apple store. If everything checks out, but you are still converting well less than 65% of your steps, then bear the following in mind:

  1. Everyone underestimates the amount of walking they do indoors (35% is the average). In your case, you may be walking indoors more than the average user

  2. Moving between tall buildings or between dense tree cover or in a canyon can affect the GPS

  3. Walking at extremely slow speeds (walking with kids in a park) can result in steps not being

  4. Using a protective phone case can impact step conversion in some rare instances. Try using your phone briefly without it and see if there is any difference

What is Sweatcoin Pro?

  • Knowing that you earn sweatcoins when you walk, makes you move more! It seems a bit silly, but just having this app reminding you that you are paid for walking, helps to improve your fitness level! A recent study that gave a financial reward to employers that did more physical activity, showed that over half of the participants improved their level of exercise!

  • If you use the app and share the sweatcoins you earn with family and friends, you can quickly grab some great rewards!

What are some of the Sweatcoin Cons?

  • You can only earn sweatcoins by walking or running outside. If you are doing any indoor activity, you’ll lose out on sweatcoins.

  • The app must always be running on your phone. If you swipe up or force quit, it stops tracking your steps. Thankfully, it has a battery saver mode which it defaults to when you first download the app. Some people say it can drain the battery, but Dan and I use it all the time and we have hardly noticed any difference (on both iPhone and Android).

Conclusion

In a nutshell, I am in love with Sweatcoin. It’s definitely not going to make you rich, but since we started using it, we tend to walk outside more.

As it doesn’t track your activity inside, we find ourselves enjoying longer walks or comparing how many sweatcoins we earned at the end of every day.

It also helps you to make some free money out of something you are already doing anyway, therefore anything you get is just a bonus!
