January 2017 portfolio update!
It’s almost the end of January 2017 and I am seriously feeling very bad that I have not made any investments till date this month. The reason being, I have to pay off my outstanding credit card bills. I do have credit card bills of over 3000 dollars right now which is my first priority to pay off this month before I can invest any further.
I have a great credit score, don’t want that to be going down.
My money-saving mantra is simple – save money only after clearing off your credit card and other bills first. Savings should be consistent and stress free through out one’s career until one feels its enough.
What’s the point in seeing money as an investment while I have huge outstanding credit card balance and interest piling up on the existing purchases made. So I have decided that until mid or end of February 2017, I will not be making any new investments and will first clear off my credit card bills.
Meanwhile I am not wasting my time sitting idle, I am tracking my existing investments and waiting for the right time to close some stocks in my portfolio as it’s doing bad and need to exit asap.
I have my budget set to reach 50000 dollars(currently as of 31st Dec, 2016 it’s at $20000 in my TFSA + RRSP accounts) for the year and working towards reaching that goal by December 31st, 2017.
As of now its only the credit card bills that I want to clear to continue maintaining a good credit score and good financial progress card for myself.
This year, I also have plans to move to a new place(house) and buy a car(preferably SUV). How about Honda CRV 🙂
Lets see how it all goes by. Will stay tuned and keep posting about the updates as and when I get time in-between.
Meanwhile please check out my other earlier posts in this site and please leave your comments and questions on any of my investments/topics discussed so far.
I know and will be creating a model portfolio for ETF’s and Canadian/US stocks very shortly and keep it posted here. Just not getting enough time right now. But will surely do it shortly.
Thank you all for the love and understanding. Cheers!
